US Undersecretary of War for Policy Affairs Elbridge Colby announced that
“Today, the Undersecretary of War for Political Affairs, Elbridge Colby, hosted at the Pentagon building two military delegations from the State of Israel and the Republic of Lebanon, in order to inaugurate the security track in support of the ongoing talks between the two countries.
Pointing out that the military talks between the two delegations were fruitful and will contribute to supporting the political track led by the US State Department next week.”
The Ministry of Defense deeply values its strategic partnerships with both the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF). The Ministry also supports Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, free of non-state armed actors, and welcomes the commitment of both militaries to these historic efforts. These are essential steps towards achieving President Trump's vision for lasting peace in the Middle East.
The United States looks forward to holding a new meeting soon to continue the security path.
